Capitoline Museums Tickets takes part in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme. If you book through a link or a booking panel on this site, GetYourGuide pays me a commission. You pay exactly what you would have paid going to them directly — the commission comes out of their margin, not your ticket.
How it works in practice
Every booking link and every availability panel here carries an affiliate tag. Click one, book within the tracking window, and the sale is attributed to this site. That commission is what pays for the work: reading each operator listing line by line, checking opening hours and free-entry categories against the museum’s own pages rather than against other guides, and going back to re-check the things that move.
Nothing else on this site is monetised. There is no sponsored content, no paid placement, no advertising, and no operator has ever paid to appear or to be described in a particular way.
What it does not do
It does not decide what gets recommended, and the clearest evidence is on the pages themselves. One of the six products is described as the lowest-rated on the site at 3.9, with the reviewer complaints quoted in full and a section telling you who should book something else — that is the audioguide review. Another leads with the fact that its 4.6 rating rests on nine reviews, two of which contain any text at all. A third has a section explaining that it makes no skip-the-line claim and that I am not going to imply one on its behalf. A site optimising purely for commission would write none of that.
The most commission-hostile thing here is not on the review pages at all. It is the repeated statement, on do you need to book in advance and skip-the-line tickets, that walk-up tickets at the Capitoline are almost always available and that you may not need to book anything. That is true, it is what the reader suspects, and saying it out loud is the whole reason to trust anything else on the site.
It also does not affect what you pay, and it is not the reason no prices appear here. Prices are absent because they go stale, which is explained on the about page.
Independence
This site is not a tour operator, not a booking agent and not affiliated with the Musei Capitolini, the Sovrintendenza Capitolina or Roma Capitale. The museum has no involvement in anything written here and no responsibility for it. If something on this site reads as though it were bought, tell me and I will either fix it or explain myself.
Frequently asked questions
Does booking through this site cost me more?
No. You pay GetYourGuide’s normal price for the date you choose, and the commission comes out of their side. The live figure is in the booking panel on each review page.
Do operators pay to be listed here?
No. The six products on the all-tickets page were chosen on ratings, review volume and what their listings actually contain, and the awkward caveats stay in whether the operator likes them or not.
Does the commission change the rankings?
No, and the review pages are the evidence: the lowest-rated product is described as such, in detail, on its own page, and more than one page tells you that you may not need to book at all.
